Welcome to the Fairview Community Council (FVCC)
General Information
- At Fairview “People Make the Difference”.
- The Fairview Community Council meets monthly to bring neighbors together to discuss local issues and initiatives. We invite all Fairview residents to join us in making our community a better place to live, work, and play.
- The Executive Board meets on the first Thursday of each month.
- The General Membership meets on the second Thursday of each month.
- Meetings are typically held at 6:30 pm.
- Meetings are offered both in-person & via Zoom. To ensure the safety and convenience of all members, the Council currently conducts meetings in a hybrid format. Participants can join the meetings via Zoom or attend in-person at the Fairview Community Recreation Center in the multi-purpose room.

Fairview: A Dynamic Neighborhood in a Changing City
Welcome to Fairview, a dynamic neighborhood in the heart of Anchorage that is constantly evolving. As one of Anchorage’s original community councils, the Fairview Community Council has been working hard, with the support of the Municipality of Anchorage, the Federation of Community Councils, the Anchorage Assembly, and partner organizations, to revitalize and improve the neighborhood.
Over the last decade, we have seen tremendous improvements in Fairview, including a new elementary school, upgraded rental properties, new construction of homes and condos, and improved commercial facilities. This transformation has re-positioned Fairview as a revitalizing neighborhood and made it a solid choice for buyers and renters seeking quality housing at competitive prices in the Anchorage market.
We recognize and celebrate this success, but we know that the work is not done. The reality is that transition in older neighborhoods is always tenuous, and it is critical that local leaders, working with the Community Council, make a conscious decision to reinforce what is working effectively in Fairview and to minimize or even eliminate what could undermine the neighborhood.
Fairview is one of Anchorage’s historic four neighborhoods (Fairview, Downtown, South Addition and Government Hill), and we are proud of the rich, vibrant, and diverse community that we have built.
